Child Support Services Trainer Job at Wake County Government

The Wake County Child Support Office strives to accomplish the goal of economic self-sufficiency for families by consistently collecting millions of dollars for the benefit of the children we serve. We offer an excellent benefits and compensation package, including 5% towards a 401K! Primary duties include:
Training new and existing staff on child support policy, procedure, and systems training; serving as a policy expert and policy consultant to Program Manager, department supervisors, attorneys and line staff
Completing QA reviews to ensure transfer of learning; suggesting changes to correct deficiencies and errors; and leading agency-wide training initiatives as necessary, or required by management
Providing administrative court prep, attendance, and after court training for new and existing staff, (which at times requires attendance at court hearings with trainees)
Assisting the entire Child Support Office with case management processes across the four (4) Child Support Sections: Establishment, Enforcement, Intergovernmental and Legal
NOTE: Wake County Health and Human Services employees are required to be in their current role for a minimum of one (1) year to be eligible to apply for another Health and Human Services position. Upon acceptance of employment you acknowledge that (i) you will rescind your application for any other positions within Wake County Health and Human Services, (ii) after accepting your position with Wake County Health and Human Services you must remain in your role for one (1) year before you are eligible to apply for another position within Wake County Health and Human Services, (iii) if you work in the Health Clinics and Public Health Division, influenza immunization is a condition of initial and continued employment, subject to compliance with federal law.
For positions with a remote work option, all Wake County Government remote workers must reside in one of the following states or districts: North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Maine.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Bachelor's degree
Three years of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Six (6) years or more experience as a Child Support Case Manager/Agent within a Child Support Enforcement Agency
Experience providing staff training
Proficient in NCFAST, automated collection, and Tracking System (ACTS)
How Will We Know You're 'The One'?
Considerable knowledge of local, state and federal laws, rules and regulations governing the Child Support Program, related legal procedures, judicial operations, program policy, laws and procedures
Confident self-starter, proactive and skilled in taking initiative, assessing requirements, developing plans and taking the lead in implementing plans developed
Excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated high energy, results-driven attitude working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing
Exceptional customer service skills, ability to listen, react and respond appropriately to others, and to patiently and professionally assist new and experienced staff designated for remedial training
Ability to deliver presentations suited to the needs of the audience, to follow instructions through a standard work process Initiative, and perform routine tasks with attention to detail and thoroughness (including checking work for accuracy before completion of tasks)
Ability to develop and maintain effective, and collaborative, working relationships with others to encourage and support communication and teamwork
