Position: Registered/Certified Medical Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for support of the practitioner in providing quality medical care to patients
• Assisting the practitioner with examinations and with procedures
• Preparation of patients for exams or procedures
• Triage and assessment of patients
• Collection and documentation of vital signs
• Prompt handling and documentation of patient phone calls
• Cleaning and stocking of exam rooms
• Cleaning and stocking of the lab
• Cleaning and sterilization of equipment
• Collection and preparation of specimens for laboratory analysis
• Running patient specimens including all rapid tests as well as blood samples on Cell Dyn, Piccolo, Biosite/SOB, and urine drug screens
• Assist with scheduling outpatient testing and physician referrals.
• Assist in call backs
• Administration of medications within the legal scope of practice and training of medical assistants
• Patient education
• Required to maintain CME hours as dictated for maintaining individual licensure/certification
• Other duties and responsibilities as needed and formally taught by a licensed practitioner
• All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations governing the legal scope of practice for registered/certified medical assistants
• Assist trainers in training new hires

Qualifications:

• High school graduate/GED
• Graduate of an accredited training facility for Registered/Certified Medical Assistants or State EMT License
• Current licensure
• Current CPR certification
• Clinical experience preferred
