We’re looking for an amazing Category Manager-Food to fill this role, which is based in our Seattle Office or Santa Clarita Office. This position offers a remote work location. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies and procurement activities on highly complex, high value, high risk strategic projects for food and bar categories. Scope is for all North American brands. This role will be challenged to effectively work across internal stakeholder groups within HA Group and Carnival. This role will be challenged with ensuring continued supply for a portfolio of categories and/or work on strategic sourcing initiatives on a project basis. Challenges include meeting value creation targets, consistent client engagement, cultivation of qualified sources, and consistent engagement of Carnival Corporation Op Cos to ensure potential global synergies are captured.
This position is for a Category Manager focused on a portfolio of Food, Beverage or Hotel categories, who works closely with cross-functional stakeholder teams and utilizes the 7-step sourcing process to develop and implement strategies that deliver breakthrough value creation, innovation, and/or quality improvements.

Responsibilities
- Development of an effective long-term strategic sourcing plan for highly complex categories and projects that create long term value while meeting brand objectives, including value creation, supply continuity, risk mitigation, and innovation.
- Effective collaboration on strategic sourcing categories and projects within the organization and stakeholders; Developing relationships to become a trusted sourcing partner. Ensuring cross-functional engagement and support of category projects and initiatives
- Serving as a subject matter expert on strategic sourcing categories with the stakeholders and fostering effective relationships.
- Researching best practices and conducting baseline due diligence to best understand opportunities for savings, reducing TCO, improve efficiencies, quality improvement and service of the sourcing teams. Lead supplier qualification, segmentation and certification programs.
- Strong partnership with Finance team to accurately forecast impacts of category strategy, including scenario modeling.
- Effective supplier relationship management; leveraging data, metrics, and internal feedback. Providing and reviewing score cards to improve supplier results.
- Developing and negotiating supplier contracts, using standard templates and coordinating leadership and Legal reviews as needed.
- Document activities in order to share results, best practices and develop a playbook within the sourcing teams.
- Developing early supplier involvement to ensure suppliers are utilized to their full capabilities and proactively providing input to provide low cost, efficient, and quality goods and services. Effectively influencing change and buy-in across the stakeholder group and leadership.
- Strong partnership with Finance team to accurately forecast P&L impacts of category strategy, including scenario modeling. Input into department saving trackers as needed.
- Successfully communicating strategies, KPIs, and goals vertically and horizontally within the reporting structure.
- Document activities in order to share results and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Hospitality, and/or Science required and/or preferred.
- 5 + years of relevant experience required in results-oriented roles, or 3+ years of relevant experience and a relevant Master’s program (MBA, Supply Chain, Business Analytic, etc.)
- Sourcing strategy development and execution, preferably leveraging the 7-Step Strategy methodology.
- Contract development and negotiation; effective negotiation skills and practices.
- Experience with Sourcing and Procurement within cruise lines, a plus.
- Experience with Sourcing and Procurement within Food, Beverage and Hotels, a plus.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, including verbal and written presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical skills: Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully, model information, financial analysis (including TCO modeling, make/buy analysis, cost-to-serve analysis, etc.), draw conclusions from data.
- Strategic thought leadership (including sourcing strategy planning, formulation, implementation).
- Identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work independently, lead projects and influence in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficient in the use of computer business applications.
- Market analysis (including Industry and Supplier analysis).
- Project management.
- Supplier relationship management.
- Limited travel, no more than 20%, including domestic and international locations may be required, including occasional visits to the ships in the fleets.

- Base Salary Range: $80,400.00 to $108,450.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
