Overview

Ensure that carpentry and painting jobs are performed as per written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Proficient in English oral and written communication skills.

Must have physical ability to become respirator certified.

Maintain and operate paint boot in compliance with environmental rules and regulations.

Responsible for maintaining respirator equipment and high-pressure airless pumps.

Perform carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment.

Perform planning and laying out of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions, using a variety of carpenter’s tools, portable power tools and standard measuring instruments.

Perform sanding, sandblasting, priming, painting of metals, wood, and plastics.

Fabricate engraved and stenciled signs.

Complete floor tile installation.

Perform lock repairs as required.

Repair doors and windows as needed.

Install dry wall to include tape, bedding, and texture.

Repair roofs, fences, and gate installation.

Perform carpenter or painter duties as required.

Complete needed small masonry projects.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES. Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education. High School or GED

Experience. Ten years’ experience as a carpenter and painter

Licenses/Certifications. Valid driver’s license.

Other (e.g., post-offer drug screen, background check, driver’s license record, etc.). All employees must undergo a driver’s license record check; classified employees must pass a background check.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

Project friendly and helpful attitude.

Responsible for maintaining a safe working environment.

Ability to drive trucks up to 26,000 GVW.

Ability to operate forklifts up to 15,000 lbs.

Maintain work areas in compliance with safety environmental requirements.

Ability to become respirator certified.

Rate of Pay: $19.38 WDR

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:00 am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:00 am-4:30 pm (every other Friday off)
