You will serve on a team whose job is to help Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort engage with all its audiences who want to create a memorable event at the Resort. You will contribute to the success of the Resort by researching and purchasing products for resale at the General Store. By supporting our company's Noble Purpose, your top priority will be to "care about our guests, and the impact you make on their lives."
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- You will help live out our company's Noble Purpose by ensuring the availability of merchandise by maintaining inventory.
- When interacting with each guest, leave them with a "WOW" story to tell about their experience.
- Share customer impact stories with your team in meetings and with management.
- Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, with attention to specified target market and demographics.
- Develops and maintains relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Negotiates contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.
- Assesses financial risks of purchases.
- Attends approved trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences to maintain current understanding of new products and trends.
- Monitor inventory levels
- Greet, interact, and monitor customers to assist the store in loss prevention.
- Communicate information about product availability, nutritional information, and ingredients.
- Maintain the outlook of the store through dusting, cleaning, and restocking merchandise, and product.
- Help with preparation for displays and end caps.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Other duties as assigned.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of customers and staff, outstanding verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
- Data entry and computer skills.
- Ability to compile information and make decisions.
- At least 2 years of retail buying experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
- Must be able to speak and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
SENSORY/PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
