New Jersey Resources is seeking a Lead Business Process Analyst to be responsible for partnering with business process owners on efficiency initiatives, developing best practices for data collection and analysis and identifying opportunities for improvement to align to company goals of optimizing our workforce and workflows. In this role, the Lead Business Process Analyst will help senior leadership to drive the execution of strategies surrounding continuous business process improvement and related productivity measures, including standardization, re-engineering, automation and elimination of ineffective tasks and procedures. The Lead Business Process Analyst will project manage our efficiency initiatives and also provide support, as needed, to NJR’s Oracle ERP Master Data Management (MDM) and Robotics Process Automation (RPA) teams.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage with process owners on a shared vision to optimize and enhance workflows and workforce
  • Conduct workshops to gather user requirements, as well as actionable insights on issues and paint points
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on problem areas identified in workshops to translate into effective business-relevant solutions that will enhance productivity.
  • Contribute recommendations and influence decision making for solutions that align to strategic objectives
  • Synthesize viewpoints and achieve consensus with process owners that will lead to design of efficient and repeatable processes
  • Critically assess performance drivers/solutions and related business value propositions
  • Partner with process owners on prioritization of initiatives based on business value creation
  • Project plan to keep deliverables on track, including evaluation and implementation of new/existing application functionality, automations, re-engineering of process models and reporting solutions, such as development of reports in Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Assist with documentation, including functional specifications and process flow charts
  • Collaborate on testing effectiveness of process changes to ensure changes are working as expected; implement modifications, as needed
  • Creatively develop approaches for business problem solving and engaging a diverse population of stakeholders
  • Communicate key insights, findings and solution recommendations to respective business leadership teams
  • Collaborate on developing appropriate metrics and reporting to senior leadership on efficiencies achieved
  • Utilize project management tools to track team deliverables and adhere to timelines and budget
  • Leverage existing and new technologies
  • Collaborate on system implementations and related integrations to ensure effective and accurate transfer of data
  • Provide support to ERP Master Data Management team, as needed, including configurations, functional specifications, and project management for issue resolutions and report development.
  • Provide support to RPA team, as needed, including assessment of automation opportunities and related cost benefit analysis, as well as process design documentation for approved automations.
  • Consult with SOX team on any process changes to ensure that changes adhere to control designs and effectiveness
Position Specifications:
  • Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, information systems, engineering or related
  • 7+ years’ experience with business process management techniques and methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to holistically examine processes and procedures
  • Big picture focus with strategic and operational mindset
  • Results oriented with ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven track record of transforming manual and inefficient processes
  • Experience with mapping business processes and documenting flowcharts
  • Concise written and verbal skills with ability to communicate effectively across different functions of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task with strong project and time management skills
  • Interpersonal and listening skills to lead data gathering discussions with key stakeholders (business and IT) on process improvement objectives and desired business outcomes.
  • Ability to prioritize initiatives that align to leadership strategies
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to understand nuances of business processes and conclude on appropriate value-added solutions
  • Comfort with being a change agent and challenging the status quo to promote best practices
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in MS Office (Vizio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and with project management tools
