POSITION: Business Development Manager – Renewable Energy
LOCATION: Flexible / Nationwide / Remote or Hybrid
POSITION SUMMARY
AEI Consultants is currently looking for full-time Business Development Manager focused on selling AEI’s Renewable Energy service offerings. AEI’s Renewable Energy Services are associated with Solar, Wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) including but not limited to the due diligence, redevelopment, and financing processes relative to existing brownfield and greenfield properties. Below are just a few of the services AEI deploys for Renewable Energy projects:
- Phase I ESAs
- ALTA/Topographic Surveys
- Critical Issues Analyses (CIA)
- Subsurface Investigations
- Natural Resources Reports and Permitting
- Cultural Resources & Tribal Consultation Reports and Permitting
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) & Erosion Control Plan (ECP)
- Municipal, State, and Federal Permitting
- Noise Assessments
- Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
- Peer Reviews
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new sales opportunities through cold calling, setting appointments and selling the value of AEI
- Research new accounts and attend local networking events to obtain client leads
- Maintain client satisfaction by understanding AEI's technical capabilities and client needs
- Responsible for meeting sales goals
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of sales experience specifically selling Renewable Energy services to National Accounts, specifically consulting services to property owners, investors, developers and/or lenders.
- Existing annual book of business between $1 and $3 million with ability to grow upward of $5 million specifically in these service lines, with the ability to cross sell other AEI’s service offerings
- Responsible for new client origination: identify, qualify and generate new business opportunities within new accounts
- Strong communication skills
- Sales and goal oriented
- Competitive attitude with demonstrated achievements in business
- Professional, high energy, self-starter
- Exemplary customer service and relationship management skills
- Ability to remain detail-oriented while working at a fast pace
- Proven ability to proactively develop client relationships utilizing cold call and outside selling techniques, and
- Experience in Commercial Real Estate and/or Commercial Financial Lending a plus, particularly related to owners and managers of portfolios of real estate assets and large industrial facilities, as well as those who finance transactions involving those property types
EDUCATION
- BS or BA degree in area related to business, marketing, or engineering
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment may be both indoors and outdoors. Indoor work takes place in a typical office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Outdoor work requires the ability to effectively perform work in all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, type, handle office and/or field equipment, speak and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, balance, kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus.
