Position Details
Tilson is looking for a construction industry-experienced Business Development Manager to grow their career within our Construction Technology Consulting Practice. The primary function of this position is to grow revenue with an emphasis on new service sales for the ENR 400 segment and beyond. You will be responsible for understanding Tilson’s sales methodologies and the full sales lifecycle, including participating in prospecting strategy and efforts, qualifying, solution selling, conducting sales presentations, proposals, negotiation, closing, and account management.
You will work for the Associate Vice President of Construction Technology Consulting and will be provided with opportunities to collaborate in identifying sales strategies to expand the growing consulting business.
Responsibilities:
  • Grow revenue with an emphasis on net new business
  • Build new relationships and secure leads through outbound prospecting into large-scale construction firms via industry events, networking, or personal outreach
  • Response to leads secured through marketing and PR efforts, as assigned
  • Participate in collaborative efforts to enhance the sales structure, strategies, and tools available to the sales team
  • Uncover prospect’s business challenges and participate with operations team in solutioning services that match the customer’s need
  • Work alongside the Associate Vice President and operations management to identify and sell new offerings or develop new markets
  • Provide management, weekly reports and up-to-date forecasts on sales activities and projects
  • Manage and maintain accurate leads, opportunities, and account information within Tilson’s CRM
  • Maintain relationships with accounts sold, collaborating with the service delivery team to follow up and generate new opportunities with existing customers
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and self-motivated
  • Passion for quality, customer service, and value
  • Business aptitude
  • Love of learning
  • Prior technology sales or consulting experience
  • Construction industry experience
  • Experience using a consultative, solution-based sales approach
  • Understanding of business systems and ERPs
  • Experience with contract negotiations
  • Excellent C-level communication/presentation skills via phone, email, and sales presentations
