Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. No designated work-space will be assigned however, selected candidate must be available to work at our location as needed. DCF work location is 201 W. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53703. DCF does not pay for travel time or reimburse for travel expenses.

The business analyst is responsible for facilitating the communication with IT staff and business customers to assist in the development, implementation, and support of a multi-year, multi-phase enhancement project.

The business analyst will understand business objectives and problems and identify alternative solutions. Working with the PM, the incumbent will manage the process of taking business requirements and translating them into technical requirement that, technologists will use drive requirements to design. The incumbent will assist in quality assurance (QA) testing as releases are moved from system testing to QA testing environments, as well as being a liaison between the business user acceptance testers to report bugs back to the technical team.

Essential Job Skills:

  • Experience working on an application development team within a complex organization to collect, document, and disseminate business requirements utilizing industry standard techniques.
  • Experience working on Agile and Waterfall development teams
  • Strong facilitation skills of small to large groups, including knowing when and how to regain group focus and use of the ‘parking lot’
  • Ability to adjust presentation and facilitation approach suitable for executives and workers
  • Ability to “tell the story” Using verbal and visual approaches
  • Holistic knowledge of the overall requirements process, business and technical
  • Prior use of requirements tools and experience/demonstrated knowledge of how they may interact with applications used for management of bugs, issues, testing, design and development
  • Ability to quickly understand business drivers, model existing processes and facilitate and guide business constituents to developing future state requirements, rather than solutions
  • Adaptability and flexibility when working with multiple clients with varying degrees of knowledge and ability/availability to participate. In other words, ability to be creative in helping clients provide the requirements and detail needed
  • Experience in a large scale, multiple constituent organization to understand and anticipate change management, training, support, and overall operational handoffs needed
  • Familiarity with the BABOK, or certifications offered through the International Institute of Business Analysis is preferred
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs
  • Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies
  • Experienced with business process reengineering
  • Experience with business process mapping and workflow diagrams
  • Collaborates to prepares solution options identify risk

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
