Overview:
Seeking a highly motivated building automation system professional who is looking for a new challenge in applying skills to Smart Building Automation solutions for internal use. Candidates should have a growth mindset, be willing to learn new skills in building automation, control systems, remote building monitoring, and continuous commissioning. Position will have opportunity to think creatively to solve challenges and identify new opportunities.

This position will collaborate closely within Energy & Sustainability team to support and build upon building automation systems and building energy management activities utilizing a nationwide enterprise network of Connected Buildings built upon the Tridium Niagara framework. This position will also support strategic company and portfolio-focused initiatives including remote monitoring, fault detection and diagnostics (FDD), continuous commissioning, automated optimization, internet of things (IoT), sensor deployment, and sustainability metrics tracking. This team member will provide quality control and maintenance of system integrations and performance and contribute to achievement of company-wide energy, sustainability and emissions reduction goals using innovative methods with a “can-do” attitude. The candidate should perform well in a fast-paced, highly dynamic, and deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Integrate building automation systems into a cloud-based enterprise Tridium Niagara 4 automation and analytics system.
  • Apply Niagara 4 metadata including relations, tags, tag groups, tag dictionaries, tag rules, to local stations through provisioning services.
  • Develop and deploy automated fault detection and diagnostic features across the enterprise Niagara network utilizing Niagara Analytics.
  • Support ongoing maintenance of the enterprise automation system and local Niagara stations.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair building automation and controls issues.
  • Perform data integrations utilizing HTTP API and JSON payloads within the Niagara N4 framework.
  • Collaborate with team and stakeholders to meet Sustainability goals.
  • Additional tasks as required:
    • Assist with the review and management of building automation and HVAC control system replacement and upgrade projects.
    • Collaborate with internal engineering and external vendors on building automation upgrades and energy saving controls projects.
    • Perform commissioning and quality control on installed building automation and controls systems.
Qualifications:
  • Technical Associates Degree in a relevant field of study is required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience working with Tridium’s Niagara N4 Framework including:
    • Block programming
    • Batch editing
    • Data modelling leveraging tags, relations, and hierarchies
    • Niagara Analytics algorithm programming
    • Templating and bulk deploy
    • Enterprise scale station provisioning
    • PX graphic building
  • 3 + years’ experience working with HVAC direct digital controllers including:
    • Controller application programming reflecting a provided sequence of operations
    • Reviewing and commissioning existing controller programming for quality control and operability.
    • Remote controller program debugging and troubleshooting.
  • 5 + years’ experience integrating devices and equipment via communication network protocols including:
    • Networking and communication experience required to include experience in IPv4, BACnet IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus, etc.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office software, including MS Excel for building automation data analysis.
  • Desired completed trainings include:
    • Niagara 4 Technical Certification
    • Niagara 4 Advanced Technical Certification or VYKON Pro Advanced Niagara Training
    • Niagara 4 Analytics Certification
  • Additional trainings or experience that would be beneficial. Certifications may also be acquired within the first 18 months of the position:
    • Niagara 4 Developer Certification
    • Distech Controls Applications & Controllers Certification
    • Honeywell Spyder Model X Technical Certification
    • Johnson Controls Basic PCT and Advanced PCT Certification
