Every Man Jack is a leader in the natural men’s grooming space in the United States, with a presence across major national retailers like Target, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Amazon. Born at the base of Mt. Tam in Marin County, CA, the company’s Base Camp is in Mill Valley, CA, just north of the Golden Gate bridge. THE ROLE: BRAND MANAGER

The Brand Manager for Every Man Jack is responsible for driving our core categories in close partnership with the Director of Brand. They will be the point person for staying on top of trends within body, deodorant, hair, skin, and beard care, tracking sales, competitive, the overall marketplace, and consumer preferences. The Brand Manager is collaborative, analytical and curious, translating data into actionable insights.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

  • Responsible for monitoring brand health, for body, deodorant, hair, skin and beard care categories, across channels and determining how to maximize growth by analyzing competitive activity, sales, consumer feedback and industry trends.
  • Make category strategy recommendations to the Director of Brand based upon knowledge and analysis of the consumer, marketplace and competitors.
  • Establish and maintain effective cross-functional relationships.
  • Manage cost and margin targets to meet financial objectives of the brand.

INNOVATION & PRODUCT

  • Assist in identifying and addressing unmet or under-served consumer, shopper, and/or customer needs and/or segments.
  • Stay ahead of category and competitive trends in personal care/beauty, in the United States as well as abroad, to inform pipeline ideas.
  • Help create brand and category stories for strategic customers as well as training and sales materials for innovation and existing items.
  • Partner with Omni and Integrated Marketing to create cohesive support plans for base business and new product launches.


MARKETING & BRAND

  • Develop new product briefs to help build the product pipeline.
  • Prepare and support presentations for Stage Gate Meetings.
  • Initiate and analyze market research to help improve upon new product innovation and marketing efforts.
  • Act as brand liaison for internal teams supporting Product Development, Creative, Operations, Omni, Sales, and Integrated Marketing.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to deliver shopper marketing initiatives.
  • Implement new launches and perform post-launch analysis and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Work across North America.


THE CANDIDATE

Candidates must be passionate, organized, and love developing personal care, grooming, and/or skin care products. This person is highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills. While this candidate loves timelines and getting organized, this person has a remarkable ability to remain calm and flexible in the fast-paced, changing world of product development in a high growth environment. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player – someone approachable with a positive, innovative and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder and takes on a “sleeves-rolled-up” and a “can-do” attitude when faced with challenges. A true ambassador for Every Man Jack, both internally and externally.


CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED

Ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of brand and product experience in CPG and/or personal care/beauty. MBA preferred, but not required.


  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Background in personal care or beauty. Experience with innovation. or product development.
  • Knowledge and experience working with mass trade channels (Mass, Grocery, Drug, Natural, Specialty, Ecommerce).
  • Strong fundamental business skills as well as entrepreneurial agility, mindset, and speed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and quickly turn insights into action. Experience working with syndicated data.
  • A true team player who can work cross functionally to deliver results.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Contagious “can do” attitude.

Mill Valley, CA (Hybrid: Mon/Tues/Thurs in Office, Wed/Fri Remote)

HOURS: Full Time, Exempt, Salaried

MANAGER: Director of Brand
