Pybus Point Lodge is a remote Alaskan fishing and eco-tourism lodge in Southeast Alaska that is only available by boat or floatplane. Among 7 guests cabins we can accommodate up to 38 guests per 4 and 5 day all-inclusive trip. From fishing to whale watching to glaciers and hot springs Pybus Point Lodge provides an amazing location for a true remote Alaskan experience. Job Title: Boat Captain

Location: Remote Alaskan Resort, Admiralty Island, AK. You will be expected to stay at the lodge for the entire season (approximately 110-115 days).

Description: Responsible for guiding guests on a full day of fishing and/or sightseeing using provided boats and tackle. Daily fishing/adventuring is typically 8:00-4:30 pm. Afternoons/evenings the captains are also responsible for cleaning fish AND helping guests with shrimping, crabbing and other evenings activities such as bear viewing. Captains are also responsible for daily cleaning and daily maintenance of boats. The Captain Team is a team, and guests may move between captains/boats for the best guest experiences. Captains agree to pool all tips designated for captains. Our focus is delighting our customers, and a friendly, helpful, and happy attitude is required at all times. This means 110+ straight days. You must be resilient and able to work long and hard. Free room and board is included as part of the compensation.

Requirements: Guides are required to have an applicable U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential. A U.S. Coast Guard Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) License is a minimum requirement, a 25 Ton Master with a radio endorsement is preferred. Guides are required to have a current American Red Cross (or equivalent) First Aid and CPR card and submit to required drug testing requirements. Guides must purchase a State of Alaska Sport Fishing License with King Salmon stamp. All fishing and safety regulations will be followed. Pybus Point Lodge will not pay fines associated with a guide not adhering to various established rules and regulations regarding fishing and guiding.

Dates: Seasonal. Approximately May 24, 2023 to September 16, 2023

Travel Requirements: Employees are responsible for their own travel arrangements to Juneau, AK prior to the season start date and from Juneau, AK at the conclusion of the season. The lodge will provide transportation from Juneau to the lodge. Any required accommodations in Juneau are the responsibility of the employee. If an employee quits or is let go at any time, the lodge will provide transportation from the lodge back to Juneau.

Pay: $6,000.00 per month
