Position Summary

BBSI is a Professional Employer Organization (PEO). The BBSI client benefits team supports our client companies (business owners) with consultation, onboarding, and ongoing service related to the benefit program. The Benefit Account Manager will work closely with sales, underwriting, HR and payroll contacts to create an exemplary experience for clients and their employees by providing consultation and decision-making support during the sales and onboarding process, open enrollment, and annual renewal.

Lines of coverage include Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D, Short- and Long-Term Disability, EAP, etc.

Responsibilities

· Responsible for ensuring continued and increased participation in the benefit program by presenting products and services to prospective benefit clients, including consultative analysis and value-based employee benefit proposals.

· Responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of underwriting submissions, and group submissions consistent with underwriting guidelines.

· Partner with clients to understand company goals related to employee benefit offering including budget (contributions), plan designs, compliance, and employee communication materials.

· Make recommendations based on experience and familiarity with market, trends, and compliance guidelines (federal and state).

· Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the plan and service offering, carriers and value-added benefits in order to educate clients and worksite employees.

· Provide 5-star service related to benefits, including responding promptly to inquiries from clients and the field.

· Act as a resource for all benefit department functions and services as part of the overall PEO offering including client contacts, worksite employees, and other members of client service team (branch).

· Create or review benefit communications, analyses, and collateral.

· Review carrier contracts and plan documents as needed.

· Conduct and coordinate open enrollment presentations.

· Follow internal processes including documenting client contact in CRM.

Qualifications

Ø 3 – 5 years’ experience group medical benefits in an employee benefits brokerage.

Ø Market knowledge of group medical and ancillary benefits; plan features, contract provisions, carriers.

Ø Demonstrated past sales success; ability to be decisive, problem solve.

Ø Knowledge of regulatory requirements, an expert in the field’s trends and practices.

Ø Strong sense of stakeholder mentality, propriety, and confidentiality; strong sense of responsibility.

Ø Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Ø Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak times.

Ø Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and target dates, report on progress.

Ø Energetic and focused with demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle, and prioritize multiple competing assignments.

Ø Bilingual Spanish a plus (not required).

Ø Willing to travel up to 25%.

The ideal candidate possesses the following skills: Active listening, communication, presentation skills, creativity, critical thinking, resilient, resourceful.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

Computer Skills: Proficient/advanced Excel skills are a must. Microsoft Office, familiarity with online enrollment/HRIS systems, online presentation platforms (Zoom, Teams).

Certifications and Licenses: Life & Health license a plus. REBC or CEBS designation a plus.
