About the Job:
The purpose of this position is to provide care for clients’ with behavioral and mental health issues and to work with the team to provide comprehensive services. An important aspect of care is providing quality services to Forest County Potawatomi Tribal and Community members, and others for whom services are appropriate. Emphasis is placed on the unique needs of each client. Cultural needs of clients will be an important aspect of care.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Provides crisis intervention, Mental Health therapy, outreach, and mental health education to individuals, groups, and families
- Practices individual and group therapy for Mental Health issues
- Responsible for client intakes, assessments, treatment planning, coordination of inpatient treatment care, and referrals when determined appropriate
- Participates in multi-disciplinary clinical care coordination meetings
- Create policies and procedures for the mental health division of the behavioral health department
Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:
- Master's degree in Clinical Social Work or Licensed Professional Counselor; Licensed for a minimum of three (3) years; 3,000 hours post-master's degree supervised psychotherapy experience, as evidenced by independent provider status in the state of WI; CPR certified or willing to obtain thirty (30) days from employment
- Skilled in the practice of general mental health care, able to counsel adults, children, and adolescents.
- Experienced in working with persons in crisis within a diverse aged population with general behavioral health issues, serious emotional disorders, and AODA issues; knowledge of Forest County Potawatomi culture is preferred
- Ability to remain calm, and to respond positively to unusual circumstances, provide and receive constructive criticism, and to implement conflict resolution skills as needed
- Ability to motivate and persuade others towards achieving goals while building rapport, work independently, with a strong sense of focus, be task oriented, be non-judgmental, and have a clear sense of professional and personal boundaries
- Exhibits professional conduct both within the clinic setting, as well as in the community, maintaining cooperative relationships with employees, medical staff and community members
- Exhibits good computer skills including the effective use of the Employee Health Record (EHR) system
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and competent with an EHR software in clinical documentation
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license required; must maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license as a condition of employment
- (Health Only) FCP complies with all CMS Mandates & all Health Division employees must receive the COVID-19 vaccine prior to hire. Additional immunization requirements may also be necessary.
