Band Instrument Repair Technician Job at Sweetwater Sound
Sweetwater, the nation’s #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and musical instruments is seeking to hire Band Instrument Repair Techs. In this role, our talented and dedicated “techs” perform thorough assessments and provide professional repair services on various wind and percussion instruments. From cleanings to more detailed restorations, the team enjoys an energetic and fun workplace with opportunities to learn and grow the technician’s skill set.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and repair of at least one type of instrument - brass, woodwind, orchestral or percussion
- Provide estimates for repair of instruments
- Work on a timetable to ensure that work is completed within estimated cost/time.
- Work on customer-owned and retail instruments from the student level to professional instruments
- Perform work at the shops hourly rate, and work must be of excellent quality
- Other duties as assigned, such as assisting at repair clinics, working on new for-sale product or school events.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining patience and a positive attitude
- Adept at multi-tasking and time management
- Standing, sitting, walking
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling of instruments and cases up to 75 pounds
- Mild cleaning chemical smell
- A diploma for an accredited repair school is preferred
This is a full-time position that would require working on-site at our headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN. The schedule for this role could vary including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
