We are searching for an experienced A/V technician who will oversee, set up and operate the media, audio and visual technical equipment necessary to support and enhance our venues and special/live events. The A/V Technician will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure all production elements and event requirements are completed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain and safeguard the technical assets of the venues, including the set up and installation of lighting, sound and communications equipment including projectors, microphones, speakers, TV's, video monitors, sound boards and associated equipment, cabling, electrical and programming.
• Determine necessary technical supports, such as lighting, sound, staging, and special needs, necessary for events, activations, and other productions produced and coordinate with internal counterparts and external clients and vendors.
• Meeting with the Production Manager and Event Coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements
• Set up, install and operate microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, video cameras. lighting, media and sound system related equipment for special events, productions, and projects; manage external production vendors/agencies on all production-related elements and technical matters
• Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment. Troubleshooting equipment and ensuring events run smoothly.

• Disassembling audio and visual equipment and packing up after the event.

• Ensure proper handling of equipment and materials coming to and leaving our venues.
• Oversee and ensure that all operations comply with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain the aesthetics and cleanliness of the venues.
• Source service, equipment and materials to support regular operations and special event needs.
• Supervise contracted staff hired for specific activations.
• Facilitate tenting, staging, electric distro, audio, etc. needed for special events.
• Perform regular inspections of electric and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot in the event of electric and/or mechanical failure.

Desired Skills and Experience:

• 7+ years’ experience in technical production, preferably within a production house/studio, or at a special event venue.
• Advanced knowledge of audio and video equipment, experience with lighting and sound techniques, and excellent troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems a plus.

• Prior experience, knowledge, and expertise working in hospitality, entertainment, and special events.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all operational levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and customers, exercising appropriate tact and diplomacy to accomplish objectives.
• Energetic and creative thinker with high business ethics and standards, as well as an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Versatile, detail-oriented and organized workmanship.
• Works with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Has the ability to manage a dynamic and ever-changing workflow.
• Self-directed and able to complete projects with limited supervision.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• High level of physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
