Automation Specialist III
Job Objective
Steering and Execution of development and set up of complex automatization solutions as well as advising production planning departments in terms of automatic production equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Automation Technology
1. Definition of requirements, checking of technologically, functional and financial feasibility and selection of best solution together with the internal customer, specialist departments and customer.
2. Perform internal and external service under consideration of economical, qualitatively aspects and regarding deadlines in conclusion with the internal customer.
3. Ensure that the requirements of the international machinery and plant engineering standards are considered, (e. g. safety levels, norms, CE, OSHA).
4. Support preparation of specification requirements and draw up of calculation and quotation for production
line and equipment. Lead the production lines/equipment design review to eliminate the mechanical design risks.
5. Working together with equipment suppliers during design and construction phase. Support of equipment suppliers as well as cooperation for selection, assessment and development of new suppliers.
6. Arrange the ordering of components for the construction / change of assembly- and test equipment under consideration of the purchasing regulations and deadlines as well as the control of the timely delivery.
7. Implementation and ramp-up of new and changed production- and test equipment. Coordination of equipment approval and introduction of improvements together with the involved parties.
8. Realization of equipment and technology related continuous improvement actions. Introduction and realization of new technologies working together with internal and external partners as well as with expert panels and specialist working groups.
9. Advice and support other departments in case of assembly-, test problems as well as for repair issues (TPM).
10. Provide technology training and knowhow transfer to engineers
11. Process characterization & optimization studies to determine process capabilities to meet customer requirements.
12. Support the technical evaluation for equipment benchmark.
13. Perform maintenance tasks for production equipment, control units, test- and measuring systems (mechanical and electrical).
14. Arrange or realize technical control-, test and measuring system developments (programming) for new production equipment as well as changes to optimize existing equipment or integration of new product variants.
15. Supervise the supplier to follow Hella electrical/ PLC programming standards for new equipment.
16. Provide 2nd level training (for MAQS Level 2) to maintenance regarding the programming.
17. Draw up of layouts and detailing of concepts considering functional, technical control and manufacturing aspects.
18. Design of fixtures, manufacturing- and test equipment, state of the art with all required manufacturing methods e. g. automatic feeding, pick and place, adjustment, assembly, measurement and testing as well.

19. Supervise and provide analysis support for finding the root cause of complicated mechanical problems.
