Job Description - Die Cast Operator (Prince Auto)
Job Summary
Prerequisite: 3-5 years of Die Cast Operator experience
Employee will interact with members of the Die Cast Department (machine operators, leads, and supervisor), Quality Control (inspectors and leads), Maintenance Department, and Tool Crib Attendants.
This position is responsible operating a number of manual and automatic die casting machines which produce a variety of die cast parts. The operator will be responsible for the removal, installation, and operation of the die cast dies.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates all automatic die casting machines as per approved die casting procedures. This includes starting machines, turning off machines, adjusting sprue fault, and starting robots.
- Performs hourly quality checks and must complete SPC form.
- Performs set-ups on any of the semi-automatic and automatic die casting machines.
- Performs repairs/ maintenance on any die casting machine in the department as required and upon authorization by the supervisor and/or lead. This involves repairing water leaks, replacing cutters, and changing nozzles.
- Change rings, pistons, goose-necks, and plum dies while working with 800* metal.
- Keeps and maintains good housekeeping in the department.
Required Skills
Technical/Functional Competencies:
- Good mechanical ability
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to use basic hand tools
- Basic understanding of hydraulics

Work Environment
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment and non-climate controlled manufacturing facility.
