Job Type: Part time, no more than 20 hours/week, flexible schedule. This is a one-year grant funded position with the possibility of becoming full time and/or being renewed.

Salary: $24.50/hour

Benefits: 10 Federal holidays paid time off

Job Location: Remote, with travel within Utah required. Applicants must reside in a northern Utah county: Cache, Rich, Box Elder, Weber, Morgan, Davis, Summit, Wasatch, Duchesne, Uintah, Carbon, Juab, Daggett, or Tooele.

Reports to: Director of AA21 Utah Project

Summary of Position: The Regional Outreach Coordinator is responsible for facilitating community outreach within Northern Utah to increase awareness of and foster support for Autism After 21 Utah Project (AA21 Utah), a project of Madison House Autism Foundation (MHAF). The tasks include initiating and developing positive working relationships with local organizations and community members, organizing and executing local events in your region, and participating in community-building with local leaders.

About the Organization: Madison House Autism Foundation is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is “To promote, model and advocate for the full inclusion of adults with autism and their families in the life of our communities; and to expand choice and opportunity in housing, employment, and social participation.”

The Autism After 21 Utah Project (AA21 Utah) is a statewide pilot program aimed towards building neuro-inclusive communities in Utah and ensuring that adults with autism have access to safe, stable, and cognitively accessible affordable housing.

Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management
  • Initiate and develop positive working relationships on behalf of MHAF with community members and leaders in your region
  • Seek out opportunities for partnership with organizations and community projects in your region that will help MHAF and AA21 Utah accomplish its' mission
  • Event Planning & Execution
  • Plan and execute events (including, but not limited to, AA21 Utah Breakfasts, community workshops, educational events, regional working group meetings, etc.)
  • Tracks attendance at events and maintains/updates Salesforce database with contacts by region
  • Help to track outcomes of the AA21 Utah project over time as evidence-based community improvement programming is implemented
  • Coordinate with Communications Manager to develop content for social media & blog
  • Assists with outreach for development & fundraising purposes
  • Work towards developing an extensive knowledge of social services and community resources for participants
  • Follow confidentiality guidelines for research participants
  • Help prepare reports in accordance with programmatic needs, organizationguidelines, and in a timely manner
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Characteristics:

  • Live in a northern Utah county: Cache, Rich, Box Elder, Weber, Morgan, Davis, Summit, Wasatch, Duchesne, Uintah, Carbon, Juab, Daggett, Tooele
  • Have valid Utah driver's license
  • Excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with a variety of audiences, including community leaders, elected officials, autistic adults, and families of adults with autism
  • Ability to plan and execute outreach as a team
  • Bachelor’s degree and three years’ relevant work experience OR five years’ relevant work experience
  • Self-motivated and highly capable of working independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Interest in grassroots community-building, autism, rural issues, and social justice
  • Proficient in Google Drive
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Spanish language proficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree and five years’ relevant work experience OR seven years’ relevant work experience
  • Background in working with nonprofits, autism, and/or disability advocacy organization
