The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:
Associate Director, Corporate Strategy & Development
The Corporate Strategy & Development team reports directly to RTX’s President & CEO and serves as advisors to company leadership on the highest value issues and opportunities facing the company. The Corporate Strategy & Development group is responsible for shaping the future strategic direction of the company in addition to identifying and vetting potential M&A targets for the company.
This role can be remote, or hybrid from Arlington, VA, Farmington, CT, or Waltham, MA.
Role Responsibilities:
Supports a wide range of strategy and M&A projects.
Contribute to acquisitions, divestitures, other financial transactions and strategic opportunities by leading financial modeling, presentation development and due diligence execution.
Monitor and evaluate acquisition targets and key peer activities, including tracking recent events and analyzing performance / financial statements.
Support portfolio analysis, which involves assessing capabilities and financial metrics against strategy and market opportunities.
Establish productive working relationships with the strategy groups and finance functions within the businesses to understand businesses / strategic objectives and execute deals / key projects.
Assist in the preparation of senior-level briefings, which involves summarizing and communicating insights at the right level from detailed analyses.
Balance multiple projects while providing clear thinking and hands-on guidance to cross-functional team members in a collaborative work environment.

Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
Ability to take ownership of assigned projects/teams, handle ambiguity and independently drive for results
Creativity and strong oral and written communication skills
Proven analytical and financial modeling skills
Strong problem solving skills (prioritization, critical thinking, hypothesis creation, etc.). Ability to think pragmatically – not just theoretically – and drive execution of concepts
Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Outstanding multi-tasking and teamwork capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong ability/experience in developing relationships; able to develop credibility and earn respect with individuals at all organizational levels.
Ability to quickly identify, understand and manage organizational impacts of business strategy and process change.
Proven ability to listen, negotiate, influence and persuade others
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Must be a US Citizen or US Person/Green Card Holder
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA and/or Advanced Degree from a nationally recognized program
Several years of transactional experience (top-tier investment bank, business/corporate development role, consulting, VC)
Familiarity with financial data services (S&P Capital IQ, Factset, Bloomberg)
Some aerospace and defense domain knowledge
