Assistant Vice President, Enrollment Services Job at University of Houston-Downtown

Salary Range: $105,177/year or higher, commensurate with experience and/or education
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services serves on the enrollment management senior executive leadership team. The Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership within the division with a focus on process improvement, customer service, readmission, retention, graduation, and constituent engagement. The Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Services will support the entire division by working collaboratively with the University's diverse stakeholders to develop, implement, and assess innovative approaches to supporting students in the enrollment and re-enrollment processes, and partner with Student Success and Student Life as well as Academic Affairs to ensure timely graduation.
DUTIES
- Leads division-wide enrollment initiatives to ensure the University is proactively responding to data, increasing enrollment, and implementing the strategic enrollment management plan
- Oversees the division-wide centralized Contact Center and works collaboratively with division units to provide training and ensure quality control of enrollment transactions
- Works collaboratively with division units to implement quality control measures to strengthen customer service and improve the student enrollment experience
- Partners with Student Success and Student Life and Academic Affairs to support retention and graduation initiatives to increase persistence and graduate rates
- Manages the Return2Complete program designed to engage students who have stopped out and need assistance with reenrollment.
- Manages Enrollment Coaches work with students who need assistance prior to deciding to stay enrolled or stop out
- Works as a critical partner within the division to create, articulate, publicize, and manage enrollment management unit business processes (Admissions, Registrar's Office, Financial Aid, Transfer Relations, New Student Orientation, Contact Center, Campus Solution Services, and Enrollment Communications)
- Leads efforts in the use of data analytics to continuously assess the effectiveness of student enrollment initiatives, processes, and procedures
MARGINAL DUTIES
- Provides executive leadership to the division in the absence of the Vice President of Enrollment Management
- Performs all other duties as assigned

- Makes final decision on granting time off

WORK LOCATION AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Works in an office environment
Physical Demands:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
- Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about sitting (90%) walking (5%), standing (5%), etc.
- Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risk

- Master's degree from an accredited institution
Required Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience
- Higher education leadership experience at the level of executive director, assistant/associate dean, or dean
- Demonstrated experience in working with PeopleSoft student information system and EAB navigate system
License/Certification:
- None required
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse students to include low-income, first-gen, and academically underprepared students
- Earned Doctorate in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs Administration, Education, Organizational Leadership, or an academic-related field from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated experience with working collaboratively with university administrators, faculty, staff, and students in an environment of shared governance
- Demonstrated experience in managing, utilizing, and sharing data to make decision
