Recent administrative/clerical experience in a similar setting.

Experience with PC-based software applications.

Experience maintaining work effectiveness when faced with deadlines, changing priorities, fast-paced work environment, and conflicting demands from a variety of sources.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to independently recognize and define a problem; identify the resources available to help solve the problem; create and implement viable solutions and follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.

Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached.

Experience exercising discretion to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained, and a professional, respectful clinic/department environment exists at all times.

Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, document, and report clearly and concisely.

Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with medical personnel, co-workers, and other departments with the ability to function effectively as part of a team.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.

Experience required to accurately enter and retrieve patient data using standard keyboard.

Prior medical office / hospital setting experience.

Experience with EMR (electronic medical records) and PC-based software applications, to accurately retrieve radiology images, patient demographic information, exam information.

Knowledge of all State of California and Federal HIPAA Rules and Regulations regarding the release of medical information, protected health information and HIPAA privacy and security practices.

Ability to hear and speak clearly enough to be understood on the telephone and in person by individuals who are sometimes hearing impaired and/or speak unclearly.

Ability to work in a very cool environment (computer area).
-
Ability and mobility to walk from location to location within the Hospital and other campus (clinic) locations.
-
Ability to stoop, squat or kneel to reach 5” from the floor and reach overhead to obtain files.
-
Must be able to work variable hours, alternate shifts, and occasional overtime to provide coverage as needed for sick leave, staffing shortages, etc.

Must be able to rotate for evening, weekend and holiday coverage per departmental staff guidelines as needed.

Must adhere to all policies and procedures.
-
No eating allowed in work areas.

Must keep work area clean and free of debris.
-
Must comply with annual TB test and required training.

Excellent attendance and punctuality required.

This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
