Assistant Executive Housekeeper Job at Overton Hotel and Conference Center
Job summary
To ensure staff of housekeeping department cleans and maintains guest rooms and public space in accordance with guest expectations and The Overton Hotel and Conference Center standards of product and services.
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below or through the exercise of sound, reasonable judgment and initiative in the performance of job responsibilities.
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.
Summary of essential job functions
1. Oversee staff of floor housekeepers, house persons, and housekeepers by conducting daily and monthly meetings, inspecting staff work, and giving guidance so that deficiencies are corrected and standards are met
2. Train housekeepers in the standard hotel procedures and techniques
3. Arrange staff work schedules, determining days off, insuring staffing levels are based on occupancy and/or any current or anticipated projects
4. Maintains inventories of amenities, chemicals and other supplies to insure items are in stock and reorder in timely manor
5. Follow-up with all guests issues
6. Assist Manager, prepare weekly schedule for all employees
7. Assist Manager, monitor/maintain labor within guidelines
8. Assist Manager, process and approve bi-weekly payroll
9. Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping and laundry staff in details of work
10. Assist in Providing staffing, training, counseling, and performance reviews for housekeeping department
11. Assist in Planning, organizing, and monitor staff activities to ensure compliance with standards set by The Overton Hotel and Conference Center
12. Assist in Plan and conduct staff meetings
13. Supervise the operation of linen, uniform, supply, and storage rooms
14. Document needs of the department to furnish management with budget requests
15. Follow–up with all guests issues
16. Prepare Weekly Schedule for both Housekeeping and Laundry Department
17. Monitor/Maintain Labor Guidelines for all employees
18. Assist in Processing and approving payroll on a Bi-weekly basis
19. Assist in overseeing all laundry operations and linen inventory
20. Assist in Overseeing Uniform department
21. Meeting all management expectations to meet guest expectations on keeping cleanliness scores above or at least meeting the minimum requirement set forth by the General Manager
22. Open availability and flexibility to assist in any job duties required and requested by any member of management staff including housekeeping but not limited to other areas of the hotel.
23. Any other requirements not listed nor limited as asked by the hotel
Educational/Experience Requirements
1. High school diploma required
2. Bachelors Degree preferred
3. Minimum two years supervisory experience in hotel industry
4. CPR certified and First Aid Training preferred
Abilities Required
1. Ability to speak Spanish preferred
2. Ability to read and write basic English
3. Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 20 lbs
4. Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
