Assistant Brewer Job at HELMS BREWING COMPANY LLC
Description:
Summary:
Brewers measure and combine raw goods, compile testing/QA data and operate and sanitize brewing equipment. Brewers must work with a high level of efficiency, accuracy and safety according to health standards and established SOP’s.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly stand on your feet for up to six hours at a time.
- Able to lift 50 – 75 lbs.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards.
- Produce high quality wort based on SOP’s and recipes.
- Monitor quality of raw materials.
- Sanitize wort way and fermentation vessel before start of fermentation.
- Monitor temperature and status of fermentation vessels.
- Clean and sanitize beer kegs.
- Keg beer when ready.
- Keep accurate records of brewing, cellaring, packaging.
- Run de-alcoholizer machine.
- Transfer beer form tanks to totes according to schedule.
- Ensure quality of products throughout processes using sensory evaluation.
- Ensure quality of products throughout processes using lab equipment.
- Prepare for brewing/cellaring activity to be ready for next shift/day.
- Transport of packaged beer and other inventory to offsite tasting rooms.
- Keep accurate inventory of raw materials, beer in process, and packaged finished goods.
- Maintain excellent level of cleanliness of entire facility.
- Any other activities that are assigned by the Head Brewer.
- Attends all required training sessions on critical to your employment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- 1-year brewing experience or brewing education preferred.
- Have a strong team ethic with the ability to work independently.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and time management abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Accurate data-entry and record keeping.
