Animal Control Officer Job at Chaves County Government
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for enforcing State laws and County ordinances related to animal control; capture and control of animals both at large and those behaving abnormally; quarantine of animals; will write citations to owners of animals running at large or violating animal codes. Must live in Chaves County as a condition of employment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D.
CERTIFICATION/TRAINING: This position requires a Valid N.M. driver’s license with a good driving record. No prior felony convictions. No prior D.W.I. convictions within the last 48 months. Must complete Animal Control Association School within one year.
Desirable Qualifications: Prior animal control experience; completion of Animal Control Association School at least once.
