JOB TITLE: Analyst, Real Estate Asset Management

REPORTS TO: Managing Director & Senior Associate, Real Estate Asset Management

SUMMARY: The Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to analyze and monitor financial performance across EGI’s the commercial real estate portfolio. The Analyst will perform financial analysis on portfolio and asset level performance, work collaboratively with leasing and property management teams to improve portfolio performance, assist in the creation of annual asset level budgeting, assist in the project management of capital work and renovation plans, and prepare portfolio performance summaries for senior team members. The Analyst will also assist in the preparation and presentation of financial analysis of proposed transactions to senior management and the firm's Investment Committee.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Key role with analyzing prospective leases, assisting in lease negotiations, and actively managing other tenant matters
  • Provide support to Senior Associate across leasing, operations, financial analysis, and project management
  • Facilitate communication between property teams, leasing teams and other third parties and senior management
  • Assist in the project management of renovations, property maintenance and planned preventative work on all properties throughout the region
  • Responsible for creating and assisting in the execution of the asset level business plans and ensuring effective communication between property teams and management
  • Responsible for creating, leading, and executing on annual budgets alongside financial services team
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper reporting and compliance
  • Assist in creating and updating asset level financial models and perform comparisons to budget
  • Provides reporting and analytical support to manager and senior management as requested
  • Assist the investment team with real estate related matters for portfolio companies”
  • Monitor and analyze the financial performance of portfolio assets. Ensure assets are being operated in a manner consistent with third-party management agreements, joint-venture operating agreements, loan documents, etc.
  • Market research and data analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1+ years of relevant experience or recent college graduate with relevant real estate internship experience
  • BA/BS in Finance, Real Estate or other related field required, with a record of solid academic achievement
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a demonstrated willingness to take on tasks across the full range of responsibilities
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels within and outside the organization
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work autonomously or as a team
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Argus Enterprise
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with an effective interpersonal and collaborative working style, along with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong sense of urgency
  • High integrity and ethical standards
  • Background and understanding of Asset Management practices including budgets, leasing, operations, and capital project management
