About Us
LIFT Enrichment has been teaching healthy cooking classes to students for over 12 years and have taught over 25,000 students since 2010! We do this through our excellent curriculum and upbeat Chef Teachers that lead in-person classes taught at schools within 10-30 miles of their homes throughout California. We’ve been featured in Huffington Post, Los Angeles Times and have partnered with Whole Foods stores.

Expectations
Our after-school classes follow a curriculum that has been refined over the years with healthy recipes including: Pasta with Zucchini and Bell Peppers, Black Bean & Spinach Quesadilla with Pico de Gallo, Whole Wheat Grilled Cheese with Broccoli Slaw, Crispy Chicken Tenders with Mixed Green Salad, Black Bean Sliders with Cabbage Slaw and more! We teach using a safe and portable electric skillet. Your culinary equipment, uniform, and fresh ingredients are supplied by us.

Each workshop is 1-hour for about 20 kids that could be K-12, but most of our clients are elementary and middle schools. Workshops are 3:00pm-4:00pm or 4:00pm-5:00pm on weekdays. Each 1-hour workshop reflects about 3-4 hours of work when you consider drive time to and from the site, prep, the lesson and cleanup. After training, Chef Teachers receive $80 per 1-hour workshop ($70 compensation and $10 non-taxed mileage) and $120 per 2-hour workshop ($110 compensation and $10 non-taxed mileage)’

Teaching experience with groups of kids is preferred! I.e. enrichment teacher, camp counselor, yoga teachers etc. Our recipes are simple, but the challenging part is working with a group of students to lead a lesson. We use a portable electric skillet and basic culinary supplies to teach in non-kitchen areas, like a cafeteria or classroom (we take care of supplies and uniform) You must have a car and be covid vaccinated to work with schools

COVID-19 considerations:

All staffs must be COVID vaccinated.

Requirements

• Have a car that can hold our culinary kit (it’s a medium-sized container with an electric skillet and basic cooking supplies)
• Covid vaccinated
• Available during the afternoons (classes are between 2pm-5pm)
• Live within 10-20 miles of our school sites (these are all over California)
• Teaching experience is preferred*
