Performs complex administrative duties for the health department. Supervises the Preventive Health, Immunization, WIC. MCH/PPNBHV administrative support unit. Maintains knowledge of personnel procedures and other agency policies and procedures. Provides programmatic and administrative direction to all staff. Provides overall management of health department, including facility renovations, purchasing of supplies and equipment, medical records, reports, and clinic operations. Works in harmony with the Nurse Site Supervisor and Operations Director in developing and implementing procedures to enhance the clinic operations.
Supervises administrative staff which includes equitable delegation of duties, orientation and primary program training, cross training as required, informing of changes in policy and procedures, performance appraisals, and related personnel duties. Ensures staffing of clinics and evaluating services through data.
Provides direct services to clients.
Support all health department operations, which includes facility management, and mail distribution.
Ensures SCEIS, travel, and PCAS are submitted by administrative staff.
Ensures bank deposit is made according to agency policy.
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services or a bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

DHEC employees are required to participate in disaster preparedness during hazardous weather or declaration of an emergency. This involves being subject to duty and or call on a 24-hour basis.
You must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable transportation.
This position may require working early (before 8:30 am), evening (after 5:00 pm) and/or Saturday's.
Ability to lift 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time, if required.
