- Weekend and Holiday rotation required

What will I do?
The Activities Leader helps plan, organize, direct, and implement the therapeutic/social/leisure activities programs to meet the social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the residents in order to maintain quality of life in a long term care community.
- Assists in organizing, setting-up, scheduling, and directing all planned activities
- Invites and transports those residents needing assistance to scheduled activities
- Helps prepare monthly activity calendar, posts on all bulletin boards, and makes copies for door-to-door delivery to all residents of nursing home as assigned
- Coordinates special notices as needed for each unit of the nursing home
- Establishes birthday lists and posts on bulletin board
- Assists in-house committees and volunteers with activities and special functions
- Prepares activity work requests for dietary, maintenance, and housekeeping for special functions
- Helps welcome new residents to the facility
- Directs attention to appropriate staff for concerns raised by the residents during general House Meetings
- Helps maintain office, activity programs, and storage areas neat and organized
- Attends required in-services and regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Assesses each resident’s individual needs and interests upon admission, quarterly, and as needed and helps develop and implement interventions for individual plans of care
- Drives residents in the bus to off-campus activities as assigned
- Participates in Care Plan Meetings for residents as assigned
- Completes assigned paperwork including but not limited to resident assessments, care plans, and attendance books and documents information in required tracking systems as assigned
- Understands and follows all HIPAA guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
What do I need for this role?
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Valid PA driver’s license required
- Musical talent helpful, but not required
- Experience working with an elderly population preferred
