The Lumistella Company is looking for a knowledgeable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team! The Accounts Payable Specialist provides support to the Finance team with regard to accounts payable invoices, application of vendor payments, check and wire runs, updating vendor information. He/she support tasks as needed, particularly in Q4 and Q1.

- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and entering financial information and in the completion of alphabetical or numerical filing;

Essential Job Functions:
- Monitor the accounts payable mailbox; respond to emails when necessary;
- Enter invoices for approval into our internal accounts payable portal in a timely manner;
- Pull invoices to accounting system once approved by manager, ensuring accuracy of coding and dates for timely payment;
- Prepare daily cash payments for all companies and ensures invoices have been received for those payments;
- Prepare check run weekly for all companies to ensure that vendors are paid on time and assists with printing and scanning checks;
- Assists Staff Accountant with freight vendor invoices;
- Prepare wires weekly for international vendors;
- Reconcile all vendor payments properly and timely;
- Maintain vendor cards within our system including setting up new vendor ensuring proper documentation is received and terms are accurate;
- Provide Controller/Director of Finance and VP of Finance with weekly updates on accounts payable status and what will come due in the next week or two;
- Update AP SOPs related to their job function;
- Assist in external and internal audits to ensure compliance related to AP;
- Protects company assets through the proper management of asset files and adherence to company policy with regard to information security and management.
Education:
- High school diploma required. Accounting courses preferred;
- 1-3 years’ experience in accounts payable.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
- Position requires sitting for extended periods of time, standing, visual acumen, and manual dexterity for working with computer keyboards.
- Position may require additional hours as workload dictates.
- Position requires presence in the office consistent with the company’s Work from Home policy and whenever necessary to fulfill the functions of the role.
