Summary of Role

The Accounting Inventory Associate is responsible for accurately and timely tracking inventory between locations, weekly reconciliation of inventories, and the month-end reconciliation to physical counts for assigned locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehousing, Marketing, and outside facilities in order to properly record and audit the daily inventory transactions of movement of product.
  • Maintain inventories on a current basis to provide the most accurate information for other departments.
  • Reconcile weekly inventories to physical counts at all locations for all products.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Accounts Receivable to accurately confirm orders for invoicing, verification of documentation, and returning products to correct locations.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in financial reporting process.
  • Participate in inventory counts at Warehouse & Production facilities.
  • Filing documentation.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Aid in development of new processes and review of existing processes and procedures relating to inventory.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Accounts Payable to ensure accuracy of invoices.
  • Other duties as assigned buy supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Minimum of a two-year degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field – with major course work or experience in accounting preferred.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to analyze complex transactions required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word) and accounting software required.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, and accurate.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Limited travel to other cooperative sites or training may be required.
  • Ability to work all shifts and weekend hours when required.
  • Ability to work on a Warehouse/Production floor and work in a variety of temperatures required.
