Accounting Clerk Job at Beaumont at Bryn Mawr

We are looking for a FT Accounting Clerk; (8:00 am - 4:30 pm).

BASIC FUNCTION:
Accounting & Auditing of various expenditures and activities for Beaumont Departments.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the Accounting Supervisor in the review of invoices and other claims for payment generated by various Beaumont at Bryn Mawr departments. Verifies that expenditures follow the policies of the Beaumont at Bryn Mawr for purchasing and ensures that expenditures are recorded against the appropriate accounts and follow generally accepted accounting principles. Verifies that adequate budgeted funds are available for payments and issues accounts payable checks weekly. Verifies that orders are charged to appropriate accounts, ensures that adequate funds are available and then encumbers the funds for orders. Analyzes detailed monthly expenditures reports for each department, prepares adjusting entries as required and audits reports for coding errors and duplicate payments. Adheres to and suggests modifications to Beaumont at Bryn Mawr's internal auditing procedures in order to improve existing procedures, assure conformity to policy to increase effectiveness and efficiency of internal auditing and reporting, and to tighten internal control procedures to safeguard Beaumont at Bryn Mawr assets. Assists in the preparation of internal reports for Beaumont at Bryn Mawr Finance Committee in accordance with statutory requirements using a personal computer to generate date for reports. Maintains frequent contact with department heads on matters pertaining to expenditures. Maintains and updates fixed assets in Beaumont's fixed asset software system and prepares reports. Analyzes Construction-in-Progress account for current capital projects and prepares related reports. Reconciles and audits Medicare claims and third-party aging schedule. Prepares monthly reconciliations of various GL accounts Provides support for the payroll and accounts receivable functions. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Some accounting and auditing experience recommended. Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferred. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or state regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
