We are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant (full-time or part-time) to join our teams at the Sheraton Hartford South. Starting wage for this position is $18.00 per hour based on experience.

We are located at 100 Capital Boulevard, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

Job Description

Our Accounting Assistant:

  • Checks figures, postings, and documents for accuracy;
  • Organizes, secures, and maintains all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies and procedures;
  • Records, stores, accesses, and/or analyzes computerized financial information;
  • Classifies, codes, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals, ledgers, and/or computers;
  • Prepares, maintains, audits, and distributes statistical, financial, accounting, auditing, or payroll reports and tables;
  • Enters daily reporting information;
  • Completes period-end closing procedures and reports as specified;
  • Prepares, reviews, reconciles, and issues bills, invoices, and account statements according to company procedures;
  • Follows-up to resolve past due accounts and vendor invoices until payment in full is received or resolved;
  • Prepares daily consolidated deposits of cash received by all cash handling employees;
  • Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all
  • Cash Variances;
  • Prepares, maintains, and administers all cashier banks and contracts;
  • Assists the management with any and all duties.

Job Requirements

  • Proficient with Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with financial accounting systems; M3 experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Display professionalism while setting high standards.
  • Strong guest service attitude.
  • 3 to 5 years hotel experience preferred.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • The ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • All other duties as assigned.
