Accounting Admin Job at Hamer Electric
Our company is searching for a part-time (20-30 hours per week) Accounting and Business Administrative Assistant. This position will help with data entry and other clerical tasks for Payroll, Accounting, and other departments.
We are looking for someone with some experience in an office setting, ideally with some familiarity with accounting. This is a temporary position with the possibility to turn permanent. Come work with a fun team of professionals in our Longview, WA office!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting and Business Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Accounting Department. The Accounting Admin must have strong administrative and organization skills and overall strong computer skills. Ideally, the person in this position has experience with accounting, bookkeeping, or payroll, or otherwise should have the ability to learn quickly. The Accounting Admin must be a reliable, trustworthy, and motivated team player.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for assisting the Payroll process including collection of timecards and accurate data entry
- Responsible for invoice or other accounting related data entry
- Assist with data entry as needed for new hire process and other HR tasks
- Answering department phone calls and emails as directed
- Assist in other accounting, office or business-related clerical and administrative tasks
- Other duties, as assigned
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Accounting and Business Admin must interact professionally with staff (at all levels), and at times with customers and vendors, in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- 1+ years of experience handling administrative and accounting related tasks, demonstrating proven ability to work well under pressure
- Strong computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel
- Must present and communicate in a professional manner
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; possess self-discipline with the ability to effectively prioritize
- Ability to represent the company in a professional and positive manner
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing, including drug screening and background check
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
The position is expected to have minimal travel required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The position will work in a typical indoor office setting, at times requiring walking outdoors between buildings or other various environments.
PYHSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
