Accountant
SPRCHRGR (pronounced "supercharger") is a consultancy providing highly skilled team members across a variety of complementary disciplines. Our services include expert-level accounting and finance strategy, reporting, data visualization and analysis, business process streamlining, customized technology solutions, and more. SPRCHRGR is looking for additional accountants that are particularly adept at working with multiple companies at one time. We are a non-audit accounting and business advisory that provides a higher level of service than your typical outsourced accounting firm. We work with companies across all industries & need experienced Accountants that can adapt to the range of clients that we serve. (start-ups, private equity, venture capital, etc). The Accountant is responsible for providing detailed accounting/bookkeeping support and working directly with our clients. Candidates are not required to be Certified Public Accountants (CPA).
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline highly preferred
  • At least five (5) years' practical bookkeeping/accounting experience required
Each Accountant will ramp up to their "Expected Average Number of Hours per Week" as they are scheduled on client engagements to match their hours requirements. Client engagements will be assigned to the Accountant as they complete on-the-job training until the expected weekly hours are achieved; additional engagements will subsequently be assigned to the Accountant to replace any reduction from terminated or reduced client engagements.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Accountant's duties and responsibilities are organized into the areas of Accounting, Operations & Collaborations:
Accounting & Operations
  • Manage the relationships with your clients' primary contacts in accordance with the Accountant responsibilities at SPRCHRGR
  • Execute on tasks associated with the Client On-Boarding Process for newly assigned client engagements as assigned by the Accounting Manager
  • Execute the Client Service Delivery process in accordance with the standard service delivery model documented in SPRCHRGR training. While the scope of services varies by client engagement, you must adhere to the following 7 required client service delivery processes for each assigned client engagement per the SPRCHRGR Operations Manual:
1) Client Communication Protocol. Confirm the Client Communication Protocol with your Accounting Manager for each assigned client engagement in terms of the protocol on response time on Client E-mails received in Teamwork, as well as any additional protocols as it relates to recurring virtual meetings and incoming phone calls.
2) E-mail. Manage 100% of client service delivery-related e-mail; ensure adherence to the standard SPRCHRGR processes for client e-mail management. Managing incoming client e-mails including communicating with the client on their requests or escalating client e-mails to the assigned client manager as needed. Process all incoming emails daily; achieving a 0 Inbox (all emails received are addressed and resolved or turned into a task for later processing).
3) Teamwork Tasks. Complete all recurring, one-time and tasks created from Teamwork e-mail accurately, efficiently, and on time.
4) Teamwork Client Page. Ensure all sections are accurate and complete; update as necessary. Document all related processes for non-standard recurring client tasks in SPRCHRGR articles and assign them to their applicable tasks.
5) Document Management Process. Ensure the process adheres to our standard process contained in the SPRCHRGR Training and Library. This includes ensuring that 100% of the documentation received by the client as well as documents we create are named and filed according to the SPRCHRGR Document Naming & Filing Protocol.
6) Daily Accounting Tasks. This is where the bulk of your time is spent while working here at SPRCHRGR. We have done everything we can to make communicating and understanding the client's needs seamless so you can focus on what we do best – getting the books done and "Supercharging" (hence SPRCHRGR) their business.
7) Month-end Close Process. Execute the process in accordance with our standard process contained in the SPRCHRGR Training and Library. This includes utilization of all standard month-end related "Task Templates" in creating Month-end Close related tasks as well as the associated SPRCHRGR templates as applicable.
  • Identify and recommend to your manager areas where we may be able to provide additional services or tools to drive additional client value and efficiency.
Collaborations
  • Complete training in accordance with the standard SPRCHRGR orientation process.
  • Communicate with your manager regarding your normal schedule, desired capacity and any potential capacity overages or shortages. Maintain your "General Availability" on your Teamwork page
  • Work with your assigned Manager proactively to communicate and plan for vacations and other time off during your General Availability to highlight any issues in delivering on the communication protocol for your assigned client engagements or delivering on your assigned tasks.
  • Participate in recurring Team and One-on-One check-in meetings.
  • Be open to coaching and feedback provided by your manager and implement changes as needed.
    • As part of transitioning to new client work, confirm your hours budget for each assigned client engagement with your Manager. Execute the work within the budget. Communicate with your manager proactively if circumstances prevent you from meeting the budget.
    • Follow the standard SPRCHRGR time tracking process, including entering timecards as update your tasks dashboard in real-time as they are executed.
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications of the Accountant position include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability to provide detailed level bookkeeping support – accounts payable, accounts receivable, closing books on a monthly basis, and preparing financial reporting and analysis for small businesses
  • 1+ years of transactional accounting experience using QuickBooks or Quickbooks Online for/in a professional organization.
  • Experience with Bill.com, Expensify, or being a Quickbooks Pro Advisor is highly preferred
  • Capacity to work at least 20-30 hours a week during daytime business hours supporting clients. (40 hours is available for those seeking full-time employment)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness to consistently and accurately follow established policies and procedures.

  • Confidence in learning and embracing new technology to solve client issues
  • Experience in developing strong remote team relationships based on trust, accountability, integrity, and sharing of best practices.
