Hope Christian Health Center is a non-profit, faith-based organization operating two clinics in North Las Vegas and The HCHC Recuperating Care Center in Las Vegas.

The HCHC RCC is a 38 bed in patient program that offers primary care, case management, wound care, and other supportive services to clients who are homeless made possible through partnership with the City of Las Vegas.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Accountant participates in the delivery of excellent medical services in a patient centered medical home environment with an emphasis on the importance of the individual patient’s needs by supporting and assisting the Finance Director. The Accounting Assistant supports Hope Christian Health Center’s Finance department by providing excellent administrative support. In this manner, the Accounting Assistant helps to ensure compliance with all 19 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program Requirements, adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and coordinates improvement in the financial area of the clinic by maximizing revenue and minimizing expenses when possible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting Administrative Duties

  • Records vendor bills and other transactions in QuickBooks
  • Oversees the purchasing position to ensure quality and cost effectiveness
  • Works with vendors for accuracy of A/P updates, balances, and appropriate documentation (W-9, Workman’s Comp Certificate, Business License)
  • Discusses bill payment with Finance Director/CEO
  • Prepares, prints, and sends vendor checks
  • Prepares weekly cash and check deposits
  • Creates invoices for medical documents
  • Enters all deposit information on the daily monitor
  • Prepares monthly WRAP revenue report
  • Assists the Finance Director in preparing end of month closing to include reconciling bank accounts, updating the fixed asset deprecation report, reconciling the daily monitor with bank statement, determining accrued payroll and paid time off balances, and preparing the revenue and A/R report.
  • Assists the Finance Director in managing all Federal, State, and Local grants in QuickBooks and assists in preparing requests for reimbursement as needed
  • Assists the Administrative Assistant with ensuring all insurance coverage including D&O Insurance, worker’s compensation, general liability, automobile, cyber coverage, etc. are in place and up to date
  • Prepares accounting documentation to Finance Director/CPA team as requested.
  • Clerical work such as checking the mail and filing documents

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate, Associates, or Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting
  • At least (1) year experience in Bookkeeping and Accounting- preferred
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks Online- preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
