Job Summary

As Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the organization’s financial books and records in accordance with GAAP.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with external annual audit
• Perform month-end systems close, including making appropriate accruals to ensure revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain proper & valid supporting detail for all balance sheet accounts
• Assist controller in ensuring transactions are properly recorded to provide insight to the business, as directed by the CFO, to support internal management reporting, and analysis of Cost to Serve
• Assist controller in ensuring transactions are properly recorded with respect to EBITDA impact, and are classified in accordance with our lender agreement, or otherwise directed
• Perform allocation entries to show true contribution of profit centers, and cost of cost centers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, & annual financial reporting for management, private equity ownership, bank, including metrics and compliance reporting
• Participate in annual bottoms-up budget process and quarterly forecasting
• Assist in integration of potential acquisitions, including net working capital calculation and opening balance sheet work
• Ad hoc tasks as assigned by Controller or CFO

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred
• 2+ years’ accounting experience with escalating responsibilities, to include assisting in an external audit; transportation and freight brokerage experience preferred
• Advanced computer skills, including high level Excel skills (proficient with pivot tables, xlookup, vlookup, sumifs, etc.)
• Promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and deliverables
• Examines data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve difficult or complicated challenges
• Exceptional communication skills in person, over the phone, and in writing

• Must be able to work with others along with working independently.
• Must be detail-oriented and must meet scheduled deadlines.
