Duties: The Accounts Payable Clerk performs strong data entry skills in conjunction with working in a fast-paced production-based environment. Ability to work with internal and external customers in resolving complex inquiries regarding payment, accounts payable resolutions and invoice status. Must be able to work independently and demonstrate initiative to handle multiple tasks with little to no supervision in a team environment. Duties include but are not limited to: Processing invoices and check requests in accordance with the established work rule guideline methods and procedures. Understand and process invoices in compliance with a 2 or 3-way matching invoice system in accordance with the purchase order. Maintaining accurate records to all Accounts Payable transactions. Work with internal staff and external vendors/suppliers to clarify differences, inquiries, reconcile conflict, discrepancies and issues for accounts payable resolution. Ensure invoices have appropriate approval and understanding of accruals. Provide supporting documentation for audits. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Applicant must have a High School diploma or GED. Applicant must have previous experience in an administrative/clerical position. Clerical experience in accounting is a plus.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for up to 8 or more hours a day. The employee is required to sit at a computer in the exercise of duties.
Mental Demands
Reading, watching, studying, active listening, auditing, inspecting, proofreading, evaluating, negotiating, communicating, copying, synthesizing, calculating numbers. Ability to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures and data.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The performance of these duties may be required at any time of the day or night, any day and night of the week. The position is a bargaining unit position. The position is also safety sensitive and subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
EXAMINATION INFORMATION: Candidates selected to participate in the hiring process will be notified of the exact time and place of the examination. The examination process will consist of three parts: a written examination, and interview, and record evaluation (for internal candidates only). Candidates must attain a minimum of 70% on all parts of the process, except 60% on the interview portion, to move forward in the process. Candidates that meet the minimum requirements and are selected to continue in the process will be sent an email notification for the written test.
Weights for a final score will be assigned as follows for external candidates: Written 50%, Interview 50%. Weights for a final score will be assigned as follows for internal candidates: Written 50%, Interview 35%, Record Evaluation 15%. All candidates must score a minimum composite score of 70% in order to establish eligibility for the portion. Internal candidates must meet all record evaluation criteria in order to gain the 15% weighting. Records evaluation information includes a review of the following:
5 or more absence occurrences- 2 or more AWOL or absence control suspensions
- 3 or more active written reminders (regardless of the level)
- 5 or more misses (regardless of whether they are active or not active)
- 4 or more active tardies
- Drug or alcohol suspension
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) suspension
- Active Decision Making Leave (DML)
