POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Child Care Director, the 4K Substitute Teacher is responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on the standards set forth by the West Bend and Port Washington/Saukville School Districts and the Kettle Moraine YMCA.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Follows the DCF 251 Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers.

Implements the policies set forth by the West Bend or Port Washington/Saukville School Districts.

Supervises and mentors assistants and volunteers.
-
Plans and participates in staff meetings, parent/teacher conferences, professional development and family involvement opportunities.

Participates in Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) for referred children.

Collaborates and works cooperatively with West Bend or Port Washington/Saukville School Districts special education teachers and other YMCA partners.

Problem solves issues, concerns, incidents and reports to supervisor with possible solutions.

Communicates with parents, keeps all interactions positive and is considerate to the feelings of children and parents.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum age of 18 years old.

Teaching license or Substitute teaching license.

Current CPR/AED certification preferred; required within 30 days of hire.

Must complete and pass fingerprint check.

Must complete a Health Physical and TB test within 30 days of hire.

The ability to appropriately interact with children at their cognitive level.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must have the ability to lift 40 lbs.
