Position Summary:
The Senior Supervisor "owns the floor," overseeing all operational and administrative facets of day-to-day operations as they pertain to customer and internal KPI’s to ensure compliance with all company guidelines, policies and federal and state regulations in order to protect the company’s assets. Accountable for delivering performance in the areas of safety, cost and people development and assists the Facility Manager in developing and leading the strategic planning across the facility.

Primary Responsibilities (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Safety: Establishes and assures safe and compliant work environment.
  • Delivery: Engages drivers and warehouse staff to ensure on-time and complete deliveries (inbound and outbound).
  • People: Develop and lead talent on the operations floor. Plan, develop and implement people strategy in conjunction with the Facility Manager for personnel management and development, including recruitment, selection, disciplinary procedures, training and development, succession planning, morale and motivation, culture and attitudinal development and performance evaluations.
  • Compliance: Ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, ADA and other governmental regulatory agencies while complying with Company policies concerning health and safety.
  • Team leadership: Lead daily and weekly meetings with staff to identify and address issues and communicate messages and relevant changes from other parts of the company. Promotes team mentality and supports company culture in all areas. Sets an example of leadership and accountability to team and company.
  • Reporting and tracking: Develop, update, and share regular reports of floor performance and productivity with key internal audiences.
  • Inventory management: Responsible for facility performance as it relates to inventory accuracy (physical versus system).

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years distribution center or warehousing experience; preferred 5 years or greater
  • Experience leading people and managing high-performing teams preferred

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills required. Normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, common sense and logical thought-process.
  • Good communication with associates and management.

Competencies:

  • Distribution and Processing - Knowledge of materials, warehouse processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods. Understanding of WMS and related systems.
  • Developing and Building Teams - Encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Judgment and Decision Making - Evaluate the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards - Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Coaching and Developing Others - Identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills.

Travel:

  • Minimal – Would define this more…25-35% if needed as deemed necessary by Executive Leadership, with adequate advance notice.

Physical Demands:

  • No heavy lifting required, 10-20 pounds. Define, repetitive amount, hands on supervisor, operating forklift will vary depending on staffing and needs of the organization, or any other machinery/equipment.
  • Representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully to perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The associate frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Work environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to weather conditions

Starting Pay:
$19.00+ - pay is based on level of experience
