Sherpa Operator 2nd Shift
Efficiently operates the hopper station of the production line. Works in a food-contact zone and is fully compliant with GMPs for food contact areas. Fills hopper for filler with product that fully meets quality standards. Ensures product containers are clear and free from contamination and feeds containers into filler process. Monitors product flow through the hopper and filler to ensure product containers are properly filled to specification. Monitors the sealer to ensure bags are properly sealed. Monitors the LOT machine to ensure the correct LOT is legible to every bag. Is fork truck certified or able to become fork truck certified for loading super sacks into the hopper.

Job Duties and Accountabilities:
- Safety-Works in a safe manner. Complies with safe work practices at all times. Completes forklift certification as required. Reports unsafe conditions or situation to supervisor or management.
- Food Safety-Complies with and executes Good Manufacturing Practices. Recognizes non-compliance and takes action to correct or report observed violations of GMPs.
- Forklift Operation-Moves ingredients and materials from warehouse to production staging area as needed. Moves finished goods from finished goods holding area to finished good warehouse.
- Operates Hopper station of the production line-Demonstrates the ability to effectively and safely operate Hopper stations of assigned production line. Ensures proper filling of hoppers and efficient product flow to and through filling process. Ensures product containers are fed into the filling process using accepted procedures and GMPs. Meets productivity requirements for assigned stations worked. Work is done standing in a food contact production area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves standing, walking and lifting 10 to 55 pounds for long periods of time throughout the day. May be required to work on stairs or platforms and to lift up to 55 pounds on a regular basis. Is able to become fork truck certified. Is able to set up the LOT machine. Understands all Batch Ticket and production documentation.

Education and Experience Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Documented experience working on a production line in a food manufacturing environment, preferably with a Red Monkey Foods operation
- Prefer supervisory experience
- Experience operating a forklift, or the ability to be forklift certified within 30 days of hire
- Effective communication skills
- Able to effectively work in a team environment
- Must be performance and quality driven.
