The CLEC program leverages campus/community partnerships, student coaches, volunteer recruitment, and student leadership to provide academic and basic needs support to students and communities as part of a holistic commitment to educational equity and academic success. In addition, CLEC works to increase awareness and support for equity and inclusion while building sustainable campus/community partnerships and resilient communities. CLEC prioritizes first-generation, low-income students of color and other marginalized students. CLEC members perform direct service-related activities that build institutional capacity, support the success of K-16 students on their academic and career pathways, improve community health, and increase environmental stewardship. Member Duties : The member will engage students coming to campus (new, running start, and returning students) at Grays Harbor College. GHC students need to have a person who can answer basic questions and offer a smiling face. The member will organize and be involved in student events and get other students interested in on-campus college activities. In addition, the member will assist student life and the Welcome Center in planning, implementing, and assessing student engagement programs, work in collaboration with student life staff to develop programming that meets the needs of underrepresented and marginalized students, assist in supporting programs for the Diversity Lecture Series, diversity trainings, and student forums, provide communications regarding campus and community resources for students through multiple communication avenues, and identify community resources and maintain resource websites.
