Looking to hire for 2 open Lead positions in our Kingdom Home located in Kentwood, MI. Kingdom is a Specialized Residential AFC Home for Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled and Mentally Ill Adults.
Starting rate is $16.00 per hour. Plus an additional $2.00 per hour COVID premium pay incentive (funded separately from Network180 therefore paid out separately.)
Our Kingdom Home is a 6 Bed Medical Co-ed Home. This program currently serves four male and two female residents. We provide individualized treatment which may include; Self-Care Skills, Communication, Motor Skills, Social Skills, Cognitive, Daily Living Skills (housekeeping, survival skills), and Family Recreation in a 24 hour supervised living environment. Our programs focus on normalizing life patterns and each individual achieving his/her maximum potential while living as independently as possible and reintegrating back into the community.

Health Care Lead Position: 1st shift 6am-2pm and every other weekend.
Program Activity Lead Position: 2nd shift 2pm-10pm and every other weekend.
Full-time positions with benefit package and paid time off.

One year experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is REQUIRED.

Health Care Lead: GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and communicates with the support team to maintain, promote and monitor individuals’ health and wellness. Coordinates all medical and dental appointments and aftercare. Communicates all health-related information to all members of the support team. Reviews health care progress data and reports on outcomes toward goal areas. Supports culturally competent recovery-based practices and person centered planning as a shared decision making process.
Program Activity Lead: GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules and coordinates activities for individuals, both in their home and in the community. Additionally, plans specific activities to support individuals in reaching their personal growth goals. Communicates and coordinates all issues/information related to these activities. Reviews progress data and reports on outcomes toward goal areas. Supports culturally competent recovery-based practices and person centered planning as a shared decision making process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- CMH/DMH Training preferred.
Experience:
- One year experience working with people with disabilities.
- Character of high moral standards as stated in licensing regulation.
- Three reference deemed acceptable to Spectrum
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to successfully complete trainings required in position.
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear concise manner.
- Ability to interact with people in a positive and supportive manner and to provide leadership.
- Ability to work flexible hours, short notice and different work sites as needed.
- Ability to complete payroll bi-weekly, ensuring calculations and numbers are accurate.
- Life experiences with diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, including experience with behavioral health issues, is preferred.
- Must support a trauma informed culture of safety to aid consumers in their recovery process.
Requirements:
- Eighteen years of age or older.
- Current unrestricted valid Michigan Driver’s License.
- Completion of the personnel hiring requirements specified in the Conditional Job Offer.
- Ability to pass our comprehensive background checks including fingerprinting, medical clearance (TB test, drug screen & physical), MVR clearance, DHHS clearance, and State of Michigan clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support in all areas of daily living as needed by individual. This may include lifting individuals, assisting in transferring, moving wheelchairs.
- Support individuals in obtaining the goals (s)he have envisioned and outlined in their Person Centered Plan.
- Enhance individual participation and involvement in his/her community. This may include driving/transportation.
- Where assistance is requested/required, support individuals in making choices, advocate for him/her in areas of needs and wants.
- Assist individual in developing new relationships and supporting existing relationships.
- Interacts and communicates in a manner that is respectful toward all individuals.
- Creates environment and conducts activities in a manner that ensures health and safety of individuals.
- Develops and uses effective communication with each individual using a style suited to the individual.
- Educate and role model good techniques with individual Health Care Plans and general medical treatments.
- Trains and role models for new employees and all team members.
- Facilitates shift and team working together to achieve goals.
- Communicate in a positive and productive manner at all times with co-workers, families/guardians and the public.
- Provide a positive role model for individuals, co-workers while in the community.
- Support co-workers and actively participates in team process, both in base program and other programs.
- Provide direct support staff tasks as needed and required while on shift.
- Orders and monitors supplies to ensure stock is adequate.
- Reviews documentation, reporting needs to appropriate individuals.
- Provides complete, accurate and timely documentation.
- Performs tasks that contribute to the day to day operation of the home (such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping.)
- Performs tasks in accordance with Spectrum Community Services Policies and Procedures and that of other regulatory bodies, (CMH, CARF, AFC Licensing Recipient Rights, etc.)
- Maintains home and vehicle in safe manner. Fixes or notifies someone, i.e., supervisor of any safety or maintenance issues.
- Provides transportation in a safe manner for consumer using agency vehicle. Operates vehicles and equipment in a safe manner at all times.
- Collect/collapse data to measure performance toward individual, program and agency goals.
- Meet regularly with Program Manager in order to ensure good communication and progress toward goals.
- Actively participates in SCS Quality Improvement Plans and Initiatives.
- Identifies areas for improvement and helps make the improvements happen.
- Actively participates in staff and team meetings and in all trainings (both required by position and voluntary).
- Complete all required annual trainings as identified by the agency, licensing and CMH.
- All other duties as assigned.
